It is not about the weather, it is not about irresponsible platform chatter. We are bringing the H. E. A. T to fix what really matters most for Portland Eastern.
Our candidate outlines a strategic vision for the development of Eastern Portland, prioritizing Health, Education, Agriculture, and Tourism. These are the pillars of sustainable growth and community development. This is how we are building a stronger, smarter, more sustainable Eastern Portland
HEALTH
- Upgrade Port Antonio Hospital from type C to type A
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT & LAND DISTRIBUTION
- Provide affordable housing and land for the landless.
- Distribute titles to landowners still awaiting them.
- Upgrade infrastructure in Norwich heights
- Identify lands for NHT housing projects.
- $500,000 grant for young east Portland homeowners.
- Rent-to-home scheme for those unable to purchase immediately.
HARNESSING ACCESS FOR BASIC SERVICES
- Universal access to water, roads, and electricity.
- Revisit catchment at Chowcho Walk/Vine (Nonsuch
District) to clear spring drapers. - Address potable water shortages with public-private partnerships.
ENTERTAINMENT & CREATIVE INDUSTRIES
- Create entertainment zones to grow arts and culture.
- Designate Folly as main entertainment zone.
- Retrofit Boston playing field as a second zone for football.
EDUCATION
- End shift system at Port Antonio Primary, Boundbrook Primary, and Port Antonio High.
- First child in each household gets full tertiary scholarship.
- Strengthen early childhood institutions with resources and training.
- CASE to become UCASE (Portland’s 1st university provide electronic devices for all students.
EMPLOYMENT OF YOUTH & DEVELOPMENT
- Create youth opportunities through education, training, and jobs.
- Focus on digital marketing, coding, content creation, performing arts, farming, studio
AGRICULTURE
- Boost agricultural productivity in Eastern Portland.
- Promote tilapia farming for new farmers.
- Build Portland-based cold storage facility for disaster resilience.
- Support onion and irish potato farming; reduce fertilizer costs.
- Strengthen RADA partnerships (land prep, tracker services).
- Broiler starter program for poultry farmers.
- Establish egg storage factory for “Eastern Portland production.”
ADVANCING INFRASTRUCTURE
- Upgrade roads, transportation, and public facilities.
- Modernize and expand bus terminal in partnership with local authorities
- Fast-track rebuilding of Port Antonio market
ADVANCING QUALITY LIVING FOR ALL
- Make East Portland safe, peaceful, and welcoming for residents and returnees
TOURISM
- Reopen JTB office in Port Antonio.
NATURE TOURISM
- Promote East Portland’s natural attractions and outdoor activities.
ECO-TOURISM
- Focus on Anchovy-San San belt as “eco friendly strip.”
- Rehabilitate roads to attractions, cottages, and hostels.
- Create tourism marketing website for accommodations.
- Form local oversight committee for tourism products.
- Submit tourism reports to parliament.
